“International Workshop on Tropical Marine Ecosystem: Mangrove and Seagrass habitats” was held at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Trang Campus, Thailand, during June 29th through July 8th 2017, and Associate Professor Masahiro Horinouchi took part in the workshop as an organizer/lecturer. The participants of the workshop were consisted mainly of the students/scientists of the universities belonging to ASEAN Fisheries Education Network i.e. Universitas Air Langga (Indonesia), Can Tho University (Vietnam), Universiti Sains Malaysia (Malaysia) and Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (Thailand). After giving presentations of the present status of the coastal ecosystems of their own countries and sharing the knowledge, the participants took lectures and field/laboratory training courses to learn basic ideas of the mangrove/seagrass ecosystems and practical research techniques needed for clarification of their ecological functions.
