自己紹介, Introduction
マルチェロ ググリオッタ 博士, 学振外国人特別研究員
Dr. Marcello Gugliotta , JSPS Postdoctoral Research Fellow
I completed my BSc and MSc at University of Palermo (Italy) and obtained my PhD in 2015 at the University of Manchester (UK). As a PhD student, my research focused on facies and architecture characterization of fluvial and tidal deltaic deposits of the Lajas Formation (Middle Jurassic, Neuquén Basin, Argentina).
I later spent one year as JSPS-funded postdoc (short-term program) at the Geological Survey of Japan, in Tsukuba (Ibaraki), where I worked on fluvial and marine process interactions and their impact on sedimentation in the Mekong River delta (Cambodia and Vietnam).
I joined the Estuary Research Center of the Shimane University from 15 October 2017 for two years as a JSPS-funded postdoc (standard program). My current research focuses on the understanding of sedimentary processes in fluvial to coastal areas at a global scale and with a specific interest on the Mekong River delta.
